Fishing conditions have been good over the last few weeks with the rivers sometimes being too big due to the heavy rain. A good number of salmon have been banked recently. Shane Colgan and Terry Smithson both had fish from Donnells last week. Eccles also got a nice salmon from the Drumragh River on the 3rd October. Eddie Fisher had a fish of 8lb from the Owenkillew on the same day as did E.Mc Sorley who had a fish of about 6lb at the Flats on the river Strule below Newtownstewart. Eddie Maguire of Omagh got 3 salmon over last weekend and P O'Neill got one from Knox's on the Drumragh. On the 4th October angling conditions were excellent around Newtownstewart with 10 salmon coming from The Ladies on the Strule .Peter Connelly of Newtown had 2 and R. Duddy took 3.Paul Donaldson also got a salmon at the Meetings on the Strule at Newtownstewart. Other reports coming in are that M.McGillion had a 12lb salmon on the Strule just outside Omagh.
