With the heavy rain over the previous few weeks
good numbers of salmon have been coming into the
system. Some of the salmon are slightly coloured
but there are quite a few fresh run ones as
well.John Haran caught a nice fish of between 3
and 4lb in Newtonstewart and A. Lyttle got one
of around 5lbs. Terry Mullin has caught several
salmon around Newtownstewart in the Strule River
and also on the Owenkillew river. David Fulton
caught a fantastic 11lb sea trout on the
Owenkillew on the 18th September with a
flying'C'. This Seatrout can be seen in our
gallery.
There is more rain forecast coming in this
weekend and hopefully this will again bring up
some of the bigger salmon for the Owenkillew.
